Meadowsweet / Mead wort
Filipendula ulmaria
- Description: Perennial plant, 200 cm tall with straight stalk. The leaves are interruptedly pinnate, serrated. The numerous flowers are made up of small, aromatic white and yellow flowers.
- Ecology: It grows in damp meadows, river banks,
near springs and in lighter riparian forests both in
lowlands and mountainous regions. - Use: It has been used as medicinal herb since the ancient times.
- Interesting facts: It was a famous plant already
in the Welsh mythology representing magic power
for them.
