Common hop
Humulus lupulus
- Description: It's a dioecious, perennial, climbing plant with deep roots, branched rhizoms and long, angular, snaking stalk. The leaves are opposite with palmate lobes. The whole plant is covered by stiff hair.

brewing industry. - Interesting facts: It is planted out as cultivated crop. The female plants are grown in plantations (hop-fields). These plantations are founded for 30 years
and the cones may not be pollinated. The strobili
and cones are collected for medical purposes.
